    The Royal Society, a national scientific debate academy has suggested that it should be the UK at the forefront of environmentally friendly and sustainable farming research and development. Further to this they state that the UK needs to consider how to support farmers and rural populations through their farming methods, when most advances in agriculture seem to be promoting mechanical and automated farming systems that are putting people out of work.   • Brand new cooking App is a big hit

    Four days after its initial release, Dishy which is a new app for iphone has become the fastest selling cooking application on the UK iTunes App Store. Essentially, Dishy promises to help make cooking easier and is billed as a recipe book, shopping list and a step by step guide to cooking a meal all in one go. 95 included recipes, developed by a chef are completely searchable by dietary requriements, ingredients and are measured in emtric or imperial cooking time.   • New Uni Student get recipe training

    It was once upon a time that students across the country would not know how to cook anything when they started University life but that is now all changing as the student union in Bath, UK are starting to hand out ‘Advanced Lesson in Cooking’ cook books to their students who are due to start University. The cookbook is trying to encourage younger kids to start cooking things like oven roasted vegetables and tuna pasta bake instead of opting for fast food like pizza, burgers and Chinese which is very un-healthy for the body. Food books get handed out at the beginning of every academic year at both Bath Universities in the UK and second and third years come back each year to pick up another one as well as encourage new students to pick one up.     Everyone must have heard of this British toon.This toon inventor has a pair of big ears to match his love for cheese. Wensleydale is of course his cheese of choice.Of course the first time we laid eyes on the pair was way back in 1989 in the film A Grand Day Out in which the pair actually travel to the moon as they realise they have run out of cheese.     Maple Syrup actually (if you didnt already know) originates from the Maple Tree. These Trees can only be found in cold temperatures, which is why Canada and the northern part of the USA are the two biggest producers and really the only two making a real difference in the industry.
